Advent

Ich weiß, dass in vielen Ländern die Adventszeit anders gestaltet wird.

Wir in Deutschland haben folgende Rituale.

24 Tage vor dem Fest beginnen wir mit der Adventsgestaltung. 

Am vierten Sonntag  vor "Heilig Abend" fangen wir mit einem Adventskranz an. Es beginnt mit dem Anzünden der ersten Kerze und es folgt jeden weiteren Sonntag eine weitere.

Wir haben einen so genannten  Adventskalender,  jeden Tag wird eine Tür geöffnet, oft versteck sich hinter den Türen ein Stück Schokolade, oder auch nur ein kleines  Bild.

Das grosse Familienfest feiern wir am 24. Dez

 I know that Advent is organized differently in many countries.

We in Germany have the following rituals.

We start organizing Advent 24 days before the festival.

On the fourth Sunday before "Christmas Eve" we start with an Advent wreath. It starts with the lighting of the first candle and another one follows every Sunday.

We have a so-called advent calendar, every day a door is opened, often a piece of chocolate or even a small picture is hidden behind the door.

We celebrate the big family festival on December 24th

The night before Dec. 6  let's put a shoe in front of the door. Santa Claus then puts sweets in the well-polished shoe at night

The 24th of December is the main day for us in Germany
